John Ziegler

TISKILWA — John Stephen "Steve" Ziegler, 62, of Tiskilwa passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at Kewanee Care Center in Kewanee.

Born Oct. 11, 1950, in Princeton to Howard and Carolyn (Allen) Ziegler, he married Kathy Canary July 29, 1978, in Chillicothe. She survives.

He graduated from Tiskilwa High School in 1968. He joined the Army Reserve in 1969 where he served as a staff sergeant and drill Instructor. He also attended the Oklahoma School of Horseshoeing. He worked as a farrier, specialty butcher and farmer in Tiskilwa.

He was a member of the former Bureau County Sheriff's Posse and the Bradford Saddle Club.

Also surviving are two sons, Jonathan Luke Ziegler of Tiskilwa and Jacob Paul Ziegler of Peoria; and two brothers, Howard (Catherine) Ziegler of Carbondale and Craig Ziegler of Tiskilwa.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be at a later date.

Memorials may be directed to family.

The Norberg Memorial Home in Princeton is in charge of arrangements.
