Regional updates

Bureau Valley fell twice on both regional fronts on the Manlius campus Monday.

The Storm baseball team fell to Mendota 5-3 in the opener of the Oregon 2A Regional. In other action in the regional field, Oregon downed Sterling Newman 9-3 at Sterling. The Hawks will host top-seeded Princeton (11-9) at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. Mendota advances to play Forreston/Polo at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.

In the Ottawa Marquette 2A baseball regional, Seneca beat Somonauk 2-1 to earn a semifinal date vs. top-seeded St. Bede at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. Hall plays Ottawa Marquette on Thursday.

In the Bureau Valley 2A softball regional, the host Storm fell to Erie/Prophetstown 15-3.

The St. Bede 2A softball regional opened Monday with Somonauk topping Hall 9-8. Somonauk advances to play the host Lady Bruins at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.
