PRINCETON — Students from Marcia Blessman’s second-grade class at Lincoln School in Princeton recently visited Perry Memorial Hospital.

The class was given a tour of the Family Acute Care Unit and learned about what they could expect during a hospital stay if they had to be a patient. They also toured the radiology department where they learned about X-rays, CT scans and MRI tests. The students also viewed actual X-rays and were able to see and identify different bones. Next on the tour was a trip to medical rehabilitation where they learned about the different therapies that are used to help patients learn how to perform tasks after an injury or illness.

The students completed the tour with a visit to the business office where Liz Baptist, business office director, explained how their office works to assist patients in paying for their hospital care. Liz was also the Junior Achievement volunteer for this class and is the one who invited the students to Perry Memorial.
