Stewart wins sectional title

PLANO — Princeton’s Austen Stewart jumped his way to the IHSA State Track and Field Meet, winning the high jump championship at Plano 2A Sectional. He had a winning jump of six feet, three inches.

While Princeton finished ninth as a team in the 15-team field with 30 points, PHS coach Dan Foes noted “the whole team stepped up their game a was rewarded with many season’s and personal best.

Junior Caleb Strom had a solid all-around night, placing sixth in the 100 (11.74) and 200 (24.29), along with anchoring our 4x100 relay to a fourth place finish (44.79). He also had a personal best 20-4 in the long jump, but did not place.

Sophomore Drew Pranka also had a great night, Foes said, placing third in the 300 hurdles (42.1) and fourth in the 110 high hurdles (16.15).

Pontiac ran away from Aurora Central Catholic 127-67 for the sectional title.
