Cargill supports local food banks
HENNEPIN – Recently, Cargill’s AgHorizons facilities in northern Illinois partnered with its customers, employees and other community members to raise funds for local food pantries and food banks in its fifth annual Feeding the Hungry campaign.
Together, the company, its customers, employees and area community members raised more than $44,000 to support Northern Illinois Food Bank, River Bend Food Reserve and associated food pantries.
As a global food company, Cargill is committed to nourishing people around the world. For the fifth consecutive year, the Cargill AgHorizon’s facilities in Hennepin, Lacon, Spring Valley, Ottawa, Morris, Seneca, and Elwood enlisted support from its customers, employees and other residents to provide donations for this year’s campaign. The money raised through the fourth annual Feeding the Hungry campaign will contribute to more than 300,000 meals served to local residents. Statistics show that one in six people in the United States suffer from hunger.
