IVAS opens facility in Cherry
CHERRY — Illinois Valley Agri Systems (IVAS) has sprung into successful operation at a new facility in Cherry.
Spring Valley/Hall High School product Greg Campbell leads the way as the area manager for IVAS. After a 20-plus year stint at various locations across the country with ADM, Campbell returned to the Illinois Valley area and is extremely happy to be here.
“I was never sure that I would return to this area,” said Campbell. “But on my trip back here when my father passed, I met my wife, and suddenly I was back!”
The agriculture business has never been hotter with the entire industry moving from family business to big business. Manufactures of grain related production, transportation, storage and processing equipment and solutions are all doing well nationwide.
IVAS specializes in the design, construction and maintenance of grain storage and processing structures and systems. With IVAS’ home offices in the state of Ohio, Campbell sees the local territory as running north from Wisconsin, south to Peoria and all the way from Iowa to Indiana, generally across the north central part of Illinois.
Campbell said, “It is a bit of perfect storm. Not only is there, of course, strong demand for completely new systems and operations, but a tremendous amount of the installed elevators out there are seeing end of life for their current bins and equipment that was installed 40 plus years ago.”
IVAS’ planned success would spell good news for Cherry and the rest of the Illinois Valley.
“Our goal is to create 40 to 50 full-time, year-round jobs in the next five years,” said Campbell.
