Mary Brutcher

PRINCETON — Mary Christine Brutcher, 92, of Princeton passed away Monday, May 20, 2013, at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton.

She was born April 1, 1921, in Buda to Jessie and Mary Lorina (Fenwick) Bickett. She graduated eighth grade from Hazel Grove School. She married Robert Brutcher Dec. 13, 1943, in Princeton. He preceded her in death April 1, 1997.

She worked as a cook at Princeton High School for 20 years. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her hobbies included arts and crafts, quilting, crocheting and puzzles.

She is survived by six sons, Frank and Robert of Princeton, Richard of Abingdon, Bruce (Sandy) of Rantoul, Brian (Bonnie) of Santa Ana, Calif., and David (Enid) of Altamonte Springs, Fla.; two daughters, Marianna (Kelly) Barkley of Princeton and Janet (Robert) Huffstodt of Valparaiso, Ind.; 13 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy (Charles) Smith of Princeton; three sisters-in-law, Phyllis Bickett, Norma Bickett and Joyce Bickett, all of Princeton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, six brothers and four sisters.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. May 29 at the Norberg Memorial Home, Princeton, with Deacon John Murphy officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Princeton.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. May 28 at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to Princeton High School Foundation or American Cancer Society.
