Bureau Valley FFA members Jacob Pogliano (from left), Khloe Koser, Devon Hall, Bryan Arteberry, Dave Miller and Austin MacQuarrie planted their 15-acre corn field May 24 at the high school near Manlius. School Farm Committee chairpersons for the 2013 crop year are Arteberry and Tucker Schoff. Their committee will manage the school farm for the 2013 growing season. The team appreciates James Schoff of Walnut for providing the planter and field cultivator and for planting the field. Students were able to help fill the planter and see current technology being used in agriculture. MJ Seed donated the corn seed, and Crop Production Services donated the fertilizer and chemical.
