Police/Fire Reports

Spring Valley Police


A vehicle driven by Patricia A. Ayala, 30, of Spring Valley struck a vehicle driven by Michael P. Shinnick, 59, of Spring Valley on North Spalding Street near First Street at 2:38 p.m. May 29. Ayala was ticketed for failure to yield and failure to secure a child in an approved child restraint system or seatbelt.

A vehicle driven by Teodoro J. Alejos, 44, of Spring Valley struck a vehicle driven by Paul A. Nauyalis, 53, of Spring Valley on Richards Street near Dakota Street at 11:50 a.m June 2. Teodoro was charged with failure to yield.


Patrick B. Rivara, 37, of Spring Valley was charged with battery in his home at 209 E. Devlin St. at 7:25 p.m. June 2.

Disorderly conduct

Kyle W. Daly, 24, of Spring Valley was charged with disorderly conduct in the 900 bock of North Terry Street at 4:45 p.m. June 2.

Traffic stop/warrant arrest

Richard J. Cozzie, 34, of Spring Valley was charged with with no valid driver's license and failure to notify secretary of state of address change following a traffic stop on Spalding Street near Third Street at 2:51 p.m. June 2. Cozzie was also arrested on a Bureau County warrant for failure to appear in court for a disorderly conduct case. Cozzie posted $225 bond and was released.
