UTICA — The Starved Rock Lodge and Conference Center has announced upcoming events.
The summer season will kick off at the Lodge with the annual Storytelling Festival on June 7-9 with telling sessions on Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. and on Sunday at 11 a.m. This festival welcomes storytellers from all over Illinois. There is a Storytelling Workshop on Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. for children in kindergarten through sixth grade. Saturday Night Storytelling will continue every Saturday night at 7 p.m. through October.
The Lodge will continue Wilderness Wednesdays which take place every Wednesday at 3 p.m. Each week brings a different nature education topic for visitors. The full Wilderness Wednesday schedule can be found on the Lodge’s website.
Sunday afternoons at the Lodge will feature the Music and Wines Under the Pines concert series. Guests will be able to listen to live music and taste and purchase a variety of Starved Rock wines.
Twice a month on Sundays visitors can enjoy a Chuck Wagon Dinner with Randy Erwin, a nationally known cowboy yodeler, storyteller and rope trickster. The dinner is $45 for adults and $32 for children ten and under. A full list of dates can be found on the Lodge’s website.
