Forrest Morse

PRINCETON — Forrest Eugene "Gene" Morse, 73, of Princeton passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at his home.

He was born March 6, 1940, in Wyoming, Ill., to Forrest and Ardis (Dement) Morse. He graduated from Tiskilwa High School. He was a farmer and worked as a truck driver most of his life, working for Donald Grabil, Milstran (Dean) Trucking and Pioneer for many years. He married Glenna Cork on July 11, 1959, in Tiskilwa. He loved woodworking, gardening and pulling the floats for Nightmare on Fairgrounds Road.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 53 years, Glenna Morse of Princeton. Also surviving are three children, Karen (Steve Miller) Bermes, Paula (Dave) Mead and Michael (Crystal) Morse, all of Princeton; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Surviving as well are three brothers, Bob (Geneva) Morse of Toulon, Ed (Jean) Morse of Centralia, Mo., and Francis (Sandra) Morse of Tiskilwa.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his nephew, James Morse.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Norberg Memorial Home, Princeton, with Pastor Todd Krost officiating. Burial will follow in the Elm Lawn Memorial Park, Princeton.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to family for charitable disbursement.
