PRINCETON — William C. Springer, 75, of Princeton died Saturday, May 25, 2013, at Colonial Health Care and Rehab Center of Princeton.
Bill was born Sept. 6, 1937, to John and Loretta Springer in Spring Valley. His only sister and closest relative, Beverly Eititus, who was his POA for health care died in September of 2005. Bill’s father passed away when he was a child. He lived with his mother, attending school until his sophomore year. In March 1992, Bill moved into a 24-hour group home with Gateway Services in Princeton. His mother passed away in April 1994. Bill was close to his niece, Cherie Hazelton.
Bill is survived by his niece, Cherie Hazelton, and nephew, Jack Springer. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Beverly Eititus.
Bill had a video collection and enjoyed watching his movies. He enjoyed eating out, shopping, going to garage sales, attending music concerts and seeing movies at the Peru Mall. He had audio tapes of old radio shows, The Shadow being his favorite. Bill also enjoyed working on math and reading skills as well as watching the St. Louis Cardinals’ baseball games. Bill worked for the city of Mark, Horizon House and the News Tribune.
A celebration of life will be from 2 to 5 p.m. June 13 at Gateway Services in Princeton.
