Krabill and Cramer present program to BCRTA members
PRINCETON — The May 16 luncheon meeting of the Bureau County Retired Teachers Association was held at the Princeton Public Library. The business meeting was conducted by Phyllis Fasking, BCRTA president.
Elvin Krabill, DDS, presented a program on his many trips to Belize. Annually, he and other dentists travel to areas where people do not have access to dental services and provide them with much needed dental care. This group furnishes all their own medications, instruments, supplies and other incidentals. They perform all the procedures and functions that would be done in a dentist office in the United States. His many stories and pictures were very revealing and fascinating.
Nancy Cramer, district manager for the Association Member Benefits Advisors, provided an overview of programs and services. AMBA is a nationwide full-service agency focused on plan design, negotiations and implementation of benefits for associations. They assist Illinois Retired Teachers Association in obtaining quality benefits with flexible choices for their members. Cramer briefly reviewed most of the benefits available to BCRTA members. Most informative was her focus on the availability of the “Platinum Membership” emergency assistance service through Medical Air Service Association. MASA is the premier emergency assistance service anywhere. Its new membership benefits provide potentially life saving, emergency ambulance transportation via Jet, Helicopter, or Ground Ambulance to the nearest medical center that the patient needs any time, anywhere. This is a valuable program that can result in a life-saving occurrence.
