Aaahhh ... it’s summer!
I got out of school after the school’s Olympics; they are the last thing you will have in your memories of that year of junior high. You get to go away from school with awards in your hands, making it feel like you really accomplished something.
I really like the freedom of being able to go to bed late and wake up as late as you want. I enjoy being able to hang out with my friends as much as I want to, and I enjoy being able to have more freedom as I go outside and go to the park. I like to take my dog for a walk every morning that I can. This way I could think about what I want to do that day, and be able to think about other stuff too. I take a different path when I take her on a walk, and it’s fun getting to see a different part of my small home town.
I’m glad I didn’t go out for any sports or anything that would take up a bunch of time in the summer because I like to have some freedom, since I have a bunch of family things I have to go to.
In fact, on June 13, I headed to Nebraska with some more of my family to see my aunt. I like her house a lot; it has a lot of neat things in it like a really cool Foosball table and a big exercise room. It is also probably one of the biggest basements I will probably ever see. It is really nice, and has a lot of different doors leading to different rooms on it too. And we got to stay in a hotel which is always fun!
We might go on a vacation to Louisiana. My brother and my dad have been to New Orleans two times now, and my mom and I have been there zero times. My dad and brother really like it there a lot. They say it has a lot of interesting places to go to, including an abandoned Six Flags — the reason for it being abandoned is pointed to Hurricane Katrina, which left it destroyed. It has been almost completely looted of anything worth getting out of it, but it still is really cool to go see. They also really liked the French Quarter. It has a lot of good foods and a lot of interesting shops to go to and a whole lot more places to go.
This summer I want to maximize what I do, and I don’t want to have a boring day ... even though I might have already had some. But I’m not gonna let any more come along!
My dad had my brother and I make a list of five things we want to do over the summer, and we need to have completed them by the end of the summer. One thing on my list is master playing “Cantina Band” for the trumpet. I don’t mean to brag, but I’m pretty good at playing the trumpet; I hope to learn it well!
Having a lot of fun this summer is what I’m going to do, and I hope everyone reading this has a fun summer too!
