Summer reading program

BUDA — Mason Memorial Library in Buda will host its summer reading program, “Have Book - Will Travel,” in July for children in grades K-5. The programs, which include stories, crafts and games, will be from 1 to 2:15 p.m. July 9, 16, 23 and 30.

BCGS meeting

PRINCETON — The Bureau County Genealogy Society will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Society library, 629 S. Main St. in Princeton. The public is invited to attend this free event. The program for the evening will feature Chris Thompson from the Family History Library in Davenport, Iowa. Family History Libraries have a network of 4,500 facilities offering public access to 2.5 million microfilm records containing 3 billion names from more than 100 countries. The BCGS library is now one of the libraries across the nation where these records are made available for viewing.

Macbeth performances

PRINCETON — Festival 56 will present Shakespeare’s “Macbeth” June 30-July 28 at Soldiers and Sailors Park in Princeton. Performances will be at 8 p.m. on Wednesdays and Sundays. A brief presentation about the play is offered 15 minutes before each performance. Admission is free.
