Cannabis convictions send men to prison
PRINCETON — A Michigan man and an Indiana man have entered guilty pleas in Bureau County Court to the Class 1 felony of unlawful possession with the intent to deliver cannabis.
Thomas M. McHale, 36, of Burton, Mich., and Timothy M. July, 36, of Indianapolis, Ind., entered their guilty pleas on June 12 before Associate Circuit Judge C.J. Hollerich.
On Sept. 26, 2012, the Illinois State Police stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on Interstate 80 in Bureau County. During the course of the traffic stop, a K-9 unit from the LaSalle Police Department alerted to the presence of narcotics within the vehicle. The vehicle was searched, and three duffle bags containing cannabis were found within the vehicle.
