BCGS will meet on Thursday

PRINCETON — The Bureau County Genealogy Society will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 27, at the Society library, 629 S. Main St. in Princeton. The public is invited to attend this free event.

The program for the evening will feature Chris Thompson from the Family History Library in Davenport, Iowa. Family History Libraries have a network of 4,500 facilities offering public access to 2.5 million microfilm records containing 3 billion names from more than 100 countries. Thompson will acquaint the audience with an overview of the records that can be obtained and how to go about the process. This information will be focused  for all levels of genealogy experience whether a beginner or experienced. The BCGS library is now one of the libraries across the nation where these records are made available for viewing.
