Gearing up for the Fourth of July
WALNUT — It won’t be long before Walnut’s annual Fourth of July celebration rolls around, and the Walnut Village Board is planning ahead to keep area residents safe.
At the Walnut Village Board meeting this week, the Walnut Police Department has requested the addition of two additional people for assistance during the upcoming Fourth of July celebration.
These two additional hires would work approximately 20 hours each during the celebration. Their assistance will be used for set up of barricades, yellow caution tape and miscellaneous duties. There will be three regular officers on duty during the evening hours and during the parade.
