Princeton Community Band will present special Fourth of July concert
PRINCETON — The Princeton Community Band’s third free concert of the season will be a special Fourth of July celebration in collaboration with the Bureau County Historical Society. The program will begin at 6 p.m. Sunday in Princeton’s Soldiers and Sailors Park.
The band will perform selections in the spirit of the Fourth of July such as “National Emblem March” and “This Land is Your Land.” Between band numbers, short vignettes of Fourth of July celebrations in Princeton in earlier eras will be presented by the Bureau County Historical Society. The program will also include “But Not for Me” by George and Ira Gershwin, performed by Sarah Smith from Festival 56, as well as the patriotic medley “Let Freedom Ring,” sung by guest soloist Brandon Czubachowski.
The band will also present “Salute to America’s Finest,” a tribute to veterans, reserve, and active duty personnel and their families.
The band’s donation drum will be in its usual place. Any donations toward our expenses are greatly appreciated.
Refreshments will be available.
