Changes abound for 2013 football schedule

Changes will abound for the 2013 football season. A look at the schedules released by the IHSA this week comes with a lot of changes with all four Bureau County schools all playing in the new Three Rivers conference this season.

Princeton is paired with Hall, St Bede and Kewanee along with former West Central counterparts Orion, Rockridge and Sherrard in the Three Rivers South Division. Bureau Valley and Amboy/LaMoille are a part of the North Division with Erie/Prophetstown, Fulton, Morrison, Newman and Riverdale.

Princeton will renew acquaintances with longtime rivals Kewanee (Week 5, Sept. 27) and Hall (Week 9, Oct. 25) while starting up a new one with St. Bede (Week 4, Sept. 20). The 2013 schedule will find the Tigers kicking off at Morrison on Aug. 30, hosting Newman (Sept. 6) and Sherrard (Sept. 13) for Weeks 2 and 3, returning home for Week 6 vs. Fulton (Oct. 4) and traveling to Orion (Oct. 11) and Rockridge (Oct.18) for Weeks 7-8.

Bureau Valley and Hall will kick off the season in Manlius. The Storm then head to old Big Rivers foe St. Bede on Sept. 6. From there, BV will travel to Newman (Sept. 13) and Kewanee (Sept. 20) before alternating home/away contests with Erie/Prophetstown at home (Sept. 27) at Morrison (Oct. 4), at home vs. Amboy (Oct. 11), at Riverdale (Oct. 18) and back home for Week 9 vs. Fulton.

Hall picks up Week 2 at home vs. Fulton before hitting the road to Amboy (Sept. 13) and Orion (Sept. 20). The Red Devils will host Rockridge (Sept. 27) and travel to Sherrard (Oct. 4). Before hosting St. Bede in the battle of the Valley on Oct. 11, the last two weeks find the Red Devils at home with Kewanee and travelling to Princeton.

St. Bede opens at Amboy on Aug. 30 before its home opener Sept. 6 vs. Bureau Valley. The remaining slate for the Bruins will be at home vs. Kewanee (Sept. 13) and travel to Princeton (Sept. 20) and Riverdale (Sept. 27) before hosting Rockridge for Homecoming on Oct. 5. They will go back on the road to Hall (Oct. 11) and Orion (Oct. 18) before closing out the season at the Academy (Oct. 25).

Additional dates for Amboy/LaMoille are at Sherrard (Sept. 6), at Riverdale (Sept. 20), home vs. Morrison (Sept. 27), home vs. E/P (Oct. 4) and at Fulton (Oct. 18).

The Three Rivers schedule will change once again in 2014 with a switch to East-West divisions.
