To kick off the community of Earlville’s 150th birthday celebration, Pony Express riders and mail carriers take a pledge to safely deliver the U.S. mail from Princeton to Earlville during Thursday morning’s send-off in front of the Princeton Post Office. Administering the pledge is Earlville Festival Committee co-chairman Dave Waldron. Also participating in the send-off were Princeton Mayor Keith Cain and Princeton Postmaster Shannon Mattingly. About 75 area residents were in attendance for the send-off in Princeton. The Pony Express riders were also scheduled to make stops in Dover, LaMoille and Mendota before reaching Earlville early Thursday evening.
