OTTAWA — The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced that weather permitting, work will begin Tuesday on Routes 6 and 34 between Wyanet and Sheffield.
A $2,177,868 contract has been awarded to Advanced Asphalt Co. of Princeton for the work which includes milling and resurfacing of Routes 6 and 34 from Hazelwood Drive in Wyanet to east of Sheffield. Also included in the work is the reconstruction of sidewalk ramps at intersections along Routes 6 and 34 in Wyanet. Work is expected to be complete by the end of September.
Motorists are encouraged to use extreme caution when traveling through the work zone and should be alert for flaggers and all other workers.
