O’Neil second in IVCH Tennis Classic

The 2013 Illinois Valley Community Hospital Tennis Classic was held July 5-7 at Washington Park in Peru and Hegeler Park in LaSalle.

Results of the championship bracket were:

In men’s singles, Aaron Guenther of Ottawa defeated Jason Garner of Ottawa. In women’s singles, Jill Wetmore of Ottawa beat Jennifer O’Neil of Princeton.

In men’s doubles, Dan Le of Ottawa and Jason Garner of Ottawa defeated Aaron Guenther of Ottawa and Matthew Gunther of Ottawa. In women’s doubles, Tracey O’Fallon of Ottawa and Jill Wetmore of Ottawa beat Molly Angell of Ottawa and Kayla Guenther of Ottawa.

In mixed doubles, Jill Wetmore of Ottawa and Dan Le of Ottawa defeated Molly Angell of Ottawa and Gustavo Lozada of Peru (South America).

In boys 17 and under singles, Aaron Pellican of LaSalle defeated Zack Giovanine of Utica. In girls 17 and under singles, Molly Angell of Ottawa beat Rachel Dose of Oglesby.

In boys 13 and under singles, Connor O’Fallon of Ottawa defeated Vadim Cheli of Ottawa. In girls 13 and under singles, Regan O’Fallon of Ottawa beat Ella Marvel of Ottawa.

Results of the consolation bracket were:

Men’s singles: David Dobrose of Ottawa defeats Lake Lipka of LaSalle.

Women’s singles: Jana McCracken of Yorkville defeats Bailey Bradish of Ottawa.

Men’s doubles: Trenton Lipka of Peru and David Dobrodse of Ottawa defeat Sean Innis of Coal City and Steven Innis of Pingree Grove (Illinois).

Women’s doubles: Bailey Bradish of Ottawa and Mariah Cavanaugh of Ottawa defeat Beth Peacock of Princeton and Donna Bouchard of Ottawa.

Mixed doubles: Jennifer O’Neal of Princeton and David Dobrose of Ottawa defeat Jana McCracken of Yorkville and David Schlitz of Sheridan.

Boys 17 and under singles: Alec Lindemann of Ottawa defeats Mason Clark of Peru.

Girls 17 and under singles: Whitney Lewis of Mendota defeats Allison Vargo of Ottawa.

Boys 13 and under singles: Stas Cheli of Ottawa defeats Jack Marvel of Ottawa.

Girls 13 and under singles: Kasi George of Peru wins by default.

Sportsmanship Awards went to Ella Marvel of Ottawa and Jordan Terzick of LaSalle.
