EARLVILLE - David Hubbard of No Place Like Home LLC in Earlville has built a custom playhouse that will be displayed in local parades and will be raffled off at the end of the summer with all proceeds going to Mendota Area Senior Services (MASS). The playhouse will be in this year’s Homestead Festival parade.

“MASS is very fortunate to know a talented individual like David who sees the importance of seniors remaining independent and in their homes for as long as possible,” said Leticia Lemus, executive director of MASS. “With funding always being an issue for non-profits and with so many other groups fundraising simultaneously, MASS is always looking for new and creative ways to meet its yearly federal cash match. David’s wife, Beth, is a board member for MASS, and she and I talked about the idea and thought it would be a great new fundraising opportunity. David has gone above and beyond with this project by donating his time and all the materials.”

Hubbard has been in the construction business locally for more than 30 years as Harold Hubbard and Sons General Contractor, and in 2010, a new division of his company, No Place Like Home, LLC, was formed to help individuals remain in their homes as they age. This is accomplished by making alterations to existing homes such as stair lift installations, ramps, bathroom remodels, etc. He finds this new aspect of his business particularly rewarding, as it helps individuals remain in the homes they love rather than turning to alternate housing options.

Playhouse raffle tickets can be purchased online at www.mendotaareaseniorservices.org. They are also available at Beetz Me in Princeton. Updated pictures of the playhouse can be found there as well.
