PAC special exhibit

PRINCETON — The Art of Rug Hooking, a special exhibit showing works of art by members of the Creative Crafters Group of Princeton and the River Valley Rug Hookers of Chillicothe, will be presented at the Prairie Arts Center in Princeton throughout the month of August. A wine and hors d’hoeuvres opening reception for the artists will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 2. The exhibit will run through Aug. 25. Gallery hours are Wednesdays from 10 a.m. until noon and Saturdays and Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m. A special presentation by artist Sandy Rieker will take place at 7 p.m. Aug. 7 at the Prairie Arts Center, She will talk about this unique craft and its history, and will give a demonstration on how rug hooking is done. This event is free and open to the public. The Prairie Arts Center is located at 24 Park Ave. East in Princeton. For more information, call 815-875-2787.

Tea Party meeting

PRINCETON — “We the People Tea Party” will have an open public meeting at 6:30 p.m. today, Thursday, at the Bureau County Republican meeting room, 800 Ace Road, Princeton. Joshua Dwyer, with the Illinois Policy Institute, will discuss the future education funding in Illinois. Members of the community are encouraged to attend.
