BCGS meeting will feature SAR speaker

PRINCETON — The Bureau County Genealogical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the BCGS library at 629 S. Main St. in Princeton. Roderick Herbig will speak on Sons of the American Revolution.

Herbig is currently the president of the Fox Valley Chapter of the organization. He will appear in historical American Revolutionary attire.

Sons of the American Revolution is a patriotic organization, and its members are male descendants of people who served in the Revolutionary War or who contributed to establishing the independence of the United States. This organization is dedicated to perpetuating American ideals and traditions and to protecting the Constitution.

Herbig will inform the audience on how to use genealogy links to become a member. His tips will undoubtedly be useful, also, for females interested in researching their genealogical connections to the Revolution.
