4-H Fair kicks off

Nine year old Haven Pierson presents her 4-H sewing project — a halter dress — to Bureau County 4-H sewing and textiles judge Marlene Klingenberg at the University of Illinois Extension office Monday evening.

The Bureau County 4-H Fair kicks off today, Thursday, and will host several events throughout the weekend at the Bureau County Fairgrounds. Today, the annual dog show will be at 4:30 p.m. and fashion revue will be at 7 p.m. On Friday, the sheep show will be at 10 a.m.; the goat show will be at 1 p.m.; an Extension 100-year celebration will be at 1:30 p.m.; the cat show at 2 p.m. and swine show at 7 p.m. On Saturday, the dairy cattle show will be at 8:30 a.m.; horse, rabbit and poultry shows will begin at 9 a.m.; beef show at 9:30 a.m.; Bob Talbot Memorial Sale of Champions will be at 3 p.m. and the general project awards ceremony will be at 5 p.m. On Sunday, the horse games and speed events will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
