Two arrested on heroin possession charges

SPRING VALLEY — Two Spring Valley residents are facing drug charges in Bureau County Court.

At approximately 9:15 a.m. July 19, the Tri-County Drug Enforcement Narcotics Team and the Spring Valley Police Department executed a search warrant at 111 E. Iowa St. in Spring Valley. During the search, agents located approximately four grams of heroin in the residence.

As the result of the search, Matthew A. Persich, 26, and Bianca A. Gallup, 25, both of the 111 E. Iowa St. residence, were charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, heroin, with the intent to deliver.

Persich and Gallup were transported to the Spring Valley Police Department and later to the Bureau County Jail to await a bond hearing. Persich’s bond has been set at $75,000, and Gallup’s bond has been set at $30,000.
