Spring Valley hosts state
SPRING VALLEY — Spring Valley Little League, in conjunction with Illinois District 20 Little League Administrators, is hosting the 2013 Junior League State Championship Tournament at Kirby Park through July 31. There will be games starting at 2 and 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and single games starting at 6 p.m, the rest of the tournament.
The winner of this tournament advances to Regional Tournament Hosted by Indiana District 10 and Fort Wayne Little League.
Tae Kwon Do Camp
VAN ORIN — Breakout Van Orin Tae Kwon Do Camp will be held Aug. 5-9 at the Van Orin Gospel Church. Cost is 4150 for the first child; $100 for each additional child. The camp is a ministry of the Van Orin Gospel Church, For more information, call 815-638-2552.
Blaze tryouts
PRINCETON — Bureau County Blaze girls travel softball will have open tryouts in August for the 2014 season. There will be an open tryout for girls interested in playing for a highly competitive 14U “A” division team on Aug. 3-4. The 10U and 12U will have their tryout on Aug. 10-11. Hall of Fame
SPRING VALLEY — The deadline to submit nominations for the Hall High School Hall of Fame is July 31.  ll nominations need to be sent to the High School.  The Committee will meet on Aug. 1 at 6:30 p.m. to review nominations and make selections for the 2013 inductees.
