OGLESBY — Illinois Valley Community College’s automotive technology program will offer Basic Gas Engines from 6 to 9:20 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays this fall beginning Aug. 19 and ending Dec. 11.
“This is an excellent class for students interested in automotive technology, working technicians and anyone whose hobby is working on their vehicle, classic or muscle car,” said instructor Art Koudelka.
“The purpose is to give students a background in the theory, construction, design, operation, and service of gasoline piston engines,” he added.
Laboratory work will consist of the following requirements on a given engine: disassembly, cleaning, inspecting, measuring, recording, machining and reassembly. Students are encouraged to supply their own engine for this course.
