Calvin Baker receives scholarship

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Calvin Baker, a junior communications major from Princeton, received the Communication Scholarship Award. The selection for this award is based on merit in grades, classroom leadership and achievement in extracurricular activity.

Since enrolling in the communication degree program at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Dayton Beach, Fla., in 2012, Baker has distinguished himself in the classroom and campus community. He has a 3.2 grade point average in communication and humanities classes. In addition to his academic achievement, he works as a technical writer for NextGen Florida Test Bed, where he is responsible for writing and editing the standard operating procedures and associated documents. He also works as Assistant Communication manager for ERAU EcoCAR2; he will take over as a Communication Manager next year.

Baker is a 2010 graduate of Princeton High School. He is the son of Amber Perry of St. Petersburg, Fla. and the late Greg Baker. Grandparents are Bob and Mick Bowers of Tiskilwa.
