Margaret Ellen Russell of Chicago and Max Thomas Hellermann of Chicago were united in marriage Nov. 17 at Starved Rock Lodge in Utica.
She is the daughter of Robert and Debra Russell of Princeton. He is the son of Kurt and Jennifer Hellermann of Shorewood, Wis.
Elizabeth Russell, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Martha Hellermann, sister of the groom, and Katie Swinford, Jamie Klupe and Elisa Sanches-Tarman, all friends of the bride.
John Dixon, friend of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Andrew Russell, brother of the bride, and Elisha Wolfe, Alex Ryan and Daniel Sanchez-Tarmen, all friends of the groom.
Jacklynn Cartwright and Keelan Castelein, cousins of the bride, assisted with the guestbook and wedding programs, as well as being greeters.
A reception to honor the couple was held at the Starved Rock Lodge. The hosts and hostesses were Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Thompson, friends of the family, and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Scruggs, friends of the family.
After a ski trip to Lake Tahoe, the couple is making their home in Chicago.
The bride is a 1998 graduate of Princeton High School and a 2002 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She received a Master of Education from Loyola University of Chicago. She is a Spanish teacher at Lyons Township High School in LaGrange.
The groom is a 2001 graduate of Shorewood High School and a 2005 graduate of Oberlin College in Ohio. He is completing his master’s in music education from the VanderCook College of Music in Chicago. He is a member of many bands in the Chicagoland area and is a private music instructor.
