WYANET — The Princeton Special Olympics will host a cookout from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Wyanet Locker. They will be serving ribeyes, butterfly chops, pork burgers, brats, hot dogs, chips and pop.

Legion meeting

LADD — The Harold E. Russell American Legion Post 938 of Ladd will hold its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Legion Post. There will be a lunch served at 6 p.m. for Legion members and their wives or guest and all Auxiliary members and guests.

Genealogy Guild

OTTAWA — The LaSalle County Genealogy Guild will meet at 1 p.m. Sept. 21 at the Guild Library, 115 W. Glover St., Ottawa. Sandy Olson of Sandwich will give a talk on gifting genealogy.

Quilters Guild sewing machine cleaning

PRINCETON — The Covered Bridge Quilters Guild will sponsor its annual sewing machine cleaning from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday at the Princeton Public Library. Technicians from the Galesburg Sewing Center will clean, oil and adjust the machines. The cost is $35 for regular machines, $45 for sergers and electronic machines and up for embroidery machines.  To register a machine or for information, call Sandy Rieker at 815-879-4091. Early drop off will be at 7:30 a.m.

We the People meeting

PRINCETON — We the People Tea Party will hold a meeting at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 27 at the Bureau County Metro Center, 837 Park Ave. West, Princeton. Congressman Joe Walsh will be the guest speaker. PRINCETON — Festival 56 presents “Hometown-Anonymous,” a play about small-town life based on stories submitted by Princeton residents, at 7:30 p.m. Friday, 4 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at Grace Performing Arts Center, 316 S.
