Breast cancer support group

PERU — Kay Norlin, a certified yoga instructor, will speak to the Pink Ribbon Club at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the lobby of the Illinois Valley Regional Cancer Center, 4391 Venture Dr.

Norlin will talk about the benefits of yoga. There will be a light meal and supportive conversation. For more information and to register for the meeting, call 815-220-0342 or email pinkribbonclub@shcglobal.net. Meetings are open to all cancer survivors, family members and caregivers.

Tea Party meeting

OGLESBY — The Bureau-LaSalle Tea Party will meet at 7 p.m. today, Tuesday, at the Elks Lodge, 800 E. Walnut, Oglesby. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Demetra DeMonte, the current secretary of the Republican National Committee, will speak. The meeting is open to all and donations are welcome.

Anniversary

PRINCETON — The Bureau County Historical Society will hold a 150th anniversary of the Red Covered Bridge celebration at the Red Covered Bridge park. The program and picnic starts at 11:30 a.m. Monday. There will be grilled hot dogs, chips, cupcakes and lemonade. Bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on. This is a free family event, but donations are accepted.

Coin, currency show

PRINCETON — The National Coin Collectors Association will host a five-day event at the AmericInn Lodge & Suites from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 27-30 and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 31. They will pay cash for U.S. and foreign coins and currency.

Blood drive

PRINCETON — An American Red Cross blood drive will be from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sept. 5 at the First United Methodist Church, 316 S. Church St., Princeton. To make an appointment, call 815-872-0821.
