Robert Philhower

OHIO, Ill. — Robert Daniel Philhower, 56, of Ohio, Ill., passed away Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013, at his home.

He was born Nov. 18, 1956, in Princeton to Calvin and Elizabeth (Mercer) Philhower. He graduated from Ohio High School in 1975. He married Brenda Warren Jan. 27, 1996 in Ohio, Ill. He was employed at LCN for 29 years. He enjoyed farming, hunting and working on small machinery. He loved spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his mother; his wife, Brenda, two sons, Daniel Philhower of Colorado and Stephen (Paula) Philhower of Peoria; one daughter, Kelly (Brandon) Smith of Princeton; and four stepdaughters, Dawn (Michael) Alcaraz of Kewanee, Kim (Mark) Wollerman of Sheffield, Trisha Hamrick of Princeton and Lindsey Porter of Princeton. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Cameron, Nathan, Michael and Emily Smith, Abigail Philhower, Courtney Barton, Damarius and Mercii Porter, Allena Philhower, and Hope and Max Wollerman; two brothers, David (Cheryl) Philhower of Kasbeer and John Philhower of Ohio, Ill.; one sister, Diana (Jon) Gauger of Elmhurst; many nieces and nephews. Robert also leaves behind two dogs, Diego and Hunter.

He was preceded in death by his father, Calvin Philhower; and his previous wife, Marcia Philhower.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the Kasbeer Community Church with Jon Gauger officiating. Burial will follow in the Limerick Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Norberg Memorial Home in Princeton.

Memorials may be directed to Vitas Hospice.
