158th county fair deemed a success
PRINCETON — Thanks to the cooperation of the weather, overall attendance was good for this year’s 158th annual Bureau County Fair, according to Marc Cain, president of the Bureau County Ag Board.
The only rain during last week’s fair occurred on Thursday morning, but it didn’t keep area senior citizens away from their annual Senior Citizens Day at the fair, nor did it slow down the carnival, Cain said, adding the morning rain helped to settle the dust a bit on the ground.
Attendance was also good at the grandstand shows, including the Friday evening country show with Justin Moore, Saturday’s tractor/truck pull and Sunday evening’s demolition derby, which had about 80 entries. The Sunday morning community worship service in the grandstands was also well attended, he said.
