86th Jaquet family reunion

ROCK FALLS — The descendants of Christian and Elizabeth Jaquet held their 86th family reunion at Nims Park in Rock Falls on Aug. 25.

Fifty-one family members and one guest were present. After a prayer given by vice president Gloria Williams, a potluck dinner was served. The day was also spent visiting and playing games. Books containing many pictures of families past and present, weddings, obituaries, census, certificates, draft registration, etc. were available for the family members to look at.

The business meeting was called to order by Max Hoffman of Princeton, president. He lit a candle in remembrance of those who had passed away and those who were ill. Everyone introduced themselves and told which of the five children they were descended from. The secretary/treasurer’s reports were given by Sandra Jaquet Miller. The officers for next year’s reunion will be Gloria Williams, president; Bill Wescott, vice president; and Sandra Jaquet Miller, secretary/treasurer.

The oldest female family member present was Alma Bohm at 89. The oldest male family member present was Wallace Jaquet at 90. The youngest family member present was Brenden Hoagland. Debra Jaquet Scharp traveled the furthest from Bartonville.
