Nichols sentenced to county jail

PRINCETON — A Chicago man will serve 70 days in the Bureau County Jail after pleading guilty in Bureau County Court to the Class 2 felony of unlawful possession of a stolen motor vehicle.

Terell Nichols, 20, entered his guilty plea on Aug. 27 before Associate Circuit Judge C. J. Hollerich.

The judge placed Terrell on two years probation with the conditions he serve 70 days in the county jail; pay fines, fees and court costs totaling $2,000; and pay a $25 monthly probation fee.

Nichols was represented in court by Public Defender Michael Henneberry. Prosecuting the case was First Assistant State’s Attorney Anthony Sciuto.

This is Nichols’ first felony conviction.

On March 2, a Princeton man reported his vehicle was taken while it was parked running outside a Princeton business at about 8 p.m. Nichols was found in the vehicle later that evening, at about 10:37 p.m., by the Metamora Police Department.

Nichols was charged with auto theft on March 4, in Bureau County and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
