PERU — Cecelia K. (Henkel) Funfsinn, 88, of Peru passed away Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013, at St. Joseph's Home in Lacon with her loving family by her side.
 
Mrs. Funfsinn was born Nov. 3, 1924, in West Brooklyn to Jacob and Theresa (Untz) Henkel. She married Carl M. Funfsinn on Jan. 21, 1943 in West Brooklyn.
 
She was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Peru and a volunteer for the Illinois Valley Food Pantry for 25 years.
 
Survivors include seven daughters, Cathy Miklavcic of Lakeland, Fla., Joan Miller of Streator, Sr. Debrah Funfsinn, OSF, of Morris, Rose (Tony) Manfredini of LaSalle, Judy (Gary) Winner of Mendota, Mary (Dale) Finnell of East Peoria and Deb Funfsinn of Princeton; six sons, Richard (Dawn) Funfsinn of Yorkville, Paul and Marty Funfsinn of Peru, Mike and Dale Funfsinn of LaSalle and Jerry (Trina) Funfsinn of Ladd; 24 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; and one brother, Donald (Elaine) Henkel of West Brooklyn.
 
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl on Sept. 15, 1992; one son in infancy, Anthony Funfsinn; one granddaughter, Sharon Miller; one grandson, Brian Sparling; two brothers, Art and Leo Henkel; and one sister, Letha Klein.
 
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Mueller Funeral Home followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, Peru with the Rev. Harold Datzman, OSB, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Spring Valley.

Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with a private rosary before the visitation.

Memorial donations may be directed to St. Joseph’s Church in Peru, St. Joseph’s Nursing Home in Lacon, and Illinois Valley Food Pantry.
