Heitmann Memorial tees up Saturday
The second annual Captain Thomas J. Heitmann Memorial Golf Outing will be held Saturday at Spring Creek Golf Course in Spring Valley.
Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. for the 4-person scramble with a shotgun start at 11 a.m. Cost is $70 per person which includes green fees, a cart, and dinner. There will be cash prizes, raffles, a 50/50 give-a-way, an auction and a silent auction along with special golfing promotions such as the longest drive, closest to the pin and other games of skill and chance.
The purpose of the golf outing is to raise funds for the Thomas J. Heitmann Memorial Fund, money raised by Thomas’ family and friends, to help fulfill Capt. Heitmann’s dream of providing a new running track facility at St. Bede, and even more importantly, providing scholarships for students in the ROTC program at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, St. Bede Academy and for children of fallen Marines. Capt. Heitmann was killed in an AH-1W Cobra helicopter training flight in 2011.
You can register online at www.capttjhmemorial.com or you may request more information or register by calling Tom or Mary Heitmann at 815-539-6028. You may register a foursome or register individually and be assigned to a foursome. Registrations for the golf outing will be taken up until the day of the event.
