IVCH holds flu shot clinics

Illinois Valley Community Hospital has set dates for four public flue immunization clinics around the Illinois Valley area in September and early October. IVCH nurses will be giving the flu shots from 1 to 5 p.m. Sept. 19 in conference room B at IVCH, from 3 to 7 p.m. Sept. 25 at the Illinois Valley YMCA, from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Oct. 1 at the Utica Township Community Building and from 2 to 5 p.m. Oct. 8 at the Peru Mall. The clinic at the Peru Mall will offer adult and pediatric doses of the vaccine.

The pneumonia vaccine will be available for flu clinic patients who have a physician’s order for it. Patients must be 18 years old or older to receive a flu or pneumonia vaccine.

The flu shot is $25. The pneumonia shot is $75. Medicare assignment will be accepted with proof of Medicare Part-B eligibility.
