LAMOILLE — Wayne Notson, an artist from Mendota, recently presented a painting of The Farmer’s Table, a restaurant located in LaMoille.

“Only open since May of this year, our little restaurant must have captured the heart of Wayne Notson, a local artist from Mendota, who presented us with the most charming and uplifting painting of our establishment,” said owner Susan Paschal. “We were absolutely overcome by gratitude and sweet surprise when Wayne presented us with the work of art.

“It’s a very detailed and folky interpretation of a building I see as having so much potential, and I can’t help but feel like he captured how I feel about our restaurant. He even added flower pots by the door, just like I want to. Wayne is well known for painting buildings for people, and we feel honored that something about our place touched him enough to want to paint it. He says he loves our food and the atmosphere,” she said.

Notson comes and eats at The Farmer’s Table every other Saturday with his son. He loves the double bacon cheeseburger.

“We display his painting proudly along with a couple other of his pieces and some country paintings my mother painted,” added Paschal. “I guess what touched me most about this gift is that Wayne must have experienced at our restaurant exactly what I want every customer to experience. He captured what is in my heart and what I hope my little restaurant can be, and turned it into a truly beautiful piece of art.”
