Patience: Do you have enough?

Published: Monday, Sept. 16, 2013 6:10 p.m. CDT

This world today is at such a fast pace, sometimes it is hard to have enough patience. It would be nice if we could have the patience of Job, but I doubt if we will ever have that much. God turned Satan loose on the poor old Job, and he really suffered. All of his friends turned against him, and he lost everything. Even his wife told him to just curse God and die, but he didn’t give up. In the beginning, he had lots of patience. Psalms 37:7 says rest in the Lord and wait patiently for him; that is good advice for all of us. The second chapter of Peter 39 states the Lord has a lot of patience, not willing that any perish but all would come to repentance. Of course that won’t happen, but it would be wonderful if it would.

I think there were a few times when even God’s patience got a little weak. When he destroyed the first age. He didn’t have much choice; it was either destroy the age or his children. That could have been thousands of years ago. Probably not too many have been taught about the first Earth age. If you haven’t, you are missing half the story. Then there’s the time of Noah’s flood when the fallen angels came down unto the daughters’ of Adam, and they had children, which were giants. That didn’t make God happy, so he destroyed everything again.

If you are a Christian, be patient. You know He has promised a wonderful life to those who overcome this world and make it to the end. The real test will be when Michael kicks Satan out of Heaven down to this earth. That will be the time when only unpardonable sin can be committed. If you are one of the elect and delivered up before the synagogue of Satan, if you refuse to let the Holy Spirit speak through you that is the sin that you can never be forgiven of. You would never want to be guilty of that.
