Charles G. Gandy

CHANNAHON — Charles G. Gandy, 69, of Channahon passed away at 12:10 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013, after a long battle with cancer, at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center with his family by his side.

Born July 9, 1944, in Jonesboro, Ark., Charles was a loving father, grandfather, brother and uncle.
Charles was a retired sheet metal welder and an avid sports fan. He was joyful and loved life to the fullest, he will be greatly missed.

Charles was very active in his church and in several men’s Christian support groups.

He is survived by his four children, Sherri (Mark) Koger of Princeton, Randy C. Gandy of Pell Lake, Wis., Deborah Gandy of Pembine, Wis., David Gandy of Greenville, S.C.; and four grandchildren, Nicholaus, Erica, Mike, and Ethan. Also surviving are three brothers, Ronnie (Chrsya) Gandy of Glen Ellyn, Gordon Gandy of Pleasant Prairie, Kenneth (Diane) Gandy of Pleasant Prairie; three sisters, Shirley (George) Davison of McHenry, Milly (Robert) Calabrese of Skokie, and Linda (Ira) Goldstein of Plainfield; 16 nieces and nephews as well as numerous cousins.

A memorial service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Pell Lake, Wis., on Saturday. Internment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your local food pantries.
