Community Notes

Breakfast planned

PRINCETON — The Knights of Columbus, Father Farrell Council at St. Louis Parish in Princeton, will serve an all-you-can-eat pancake and sausage breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon Oct. 6 in the St. Louis School gymnasium. Tickets are $6 for adults, $3 for ages 4-12. Coffee, milk and juice are included. All proceeds will be donated to the Monsignor Carton Scholarship Fund and will be used to support diocesan seminarians.

Blood drive

BUDA — An American Red Cross blood drive will be from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Buda Community Hall.

Auxiliary dues

PRINCETON — Members of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 125 should be aware that the notices being received in the mail are incorrect at $14. The correct amount is $20 per member and can be paid by mail or in person at future meetings. For more information, call Carol Allicks, membership chairman, at 815-872-7891.

Meeting planned

PRINCETON — The Covered Bridge Quilters Guild will meet at 7 p.m. Oct. 3 at St. Matthews Lutheran Church, 416 Dover Road, Princeton. Members should note the change of churches. Marlene Gibson and Yvonne Morman will present a program updating the Guild’s charity quilt program. Guests are welcome to attend for a fee of $5.

Flu clinic

SPRING VALLEY — The Bureau County Health Department will give flu shots from 2 to 4 p.m. Oct. 3 at the Project Success/Hall Township Food Pantry building at 500 N. Terry St., Spring Valley. The cost is $25 for adults, $12 for age 18 and under. Medicare Part B, cash and checks will be accepted.

Meeting set

KEWANEE — The Henry County Genealogical Society will meet at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the second floor meeting room of the Kewanee Public Library. Larry Lock of the Kewanee Historical Society will present a PowerPoint program on in-depth background on several of the Walldog murals. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Blair reunion

DEPUE — The Blair family reunion will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Lake DePue Park Shelter.
