SPRING VALLEY — The Bureau County Health Department will give flu shots from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday at the Project Success/Hall Township Food Pantry building at 500 N. Terry St., Spring Valley. The cost is $25 for adults, $12 for age 18 and under. Medicare Part B, cash and checks will be accepted.
WYANET — The Wyanet Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Historical Hall. Plans will be made for the soup/chili supper in November.
Fall colors tours
UTICA — Starved Rock Lodge at Starved Rock State Park will offer fall colors tour through October. Tours are offered on Mondays and Saturdays and include lunch in the Lodge’s main dining room along with a trolley tour and guided hike. The tour costs $30 for adults and $25 for children under 10. PRINCETON — The Princeton Elementary Early Childhood PTO is offering families in the community an opportunity to order boxes of Fannie May candy from students as a fundraiser. The fundraiser will run from Wednesday to Oct. 15. The are $12 a box. Choices include creams, mint meltaways, trinidads, pixies and assorted chocolates. This fundraiser helps provide funds for classroom materials, student/family activities and other needed supplies for early childhood programs. Chicken and biscuit dinner
PRINCETON — The annual Hampshire Colony Congregational Church chicken and biscuit dinner will be Oct. 9 at the church, 604 S. Church St., Princeton. Serving will start at 4:45 p.m. Tickets are $8 for adults, $3 for children under 12 (half serving). The church, which is handicapped accessible, has been hosting this event for more than 50 years.
