PRINCETON — Betty Lou (Pinter) Linker, 70, of Princeton passed away Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, at the Mendota Lutheran Home where she was a resident for four days. She had been battling pancreatic cancer for two years.

Betty was born June 27, 1943, in Princeton to Arnold and Opal (Searl) Pinter. She was united in holy matrimony to Billy Linker on Sept. 6, 1964, in St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church on the Hill in rural Princeton.

She was a graduate of Berlin Center School and Malden High School. A life-long member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church ("The Church on the Hill") of rural Princeton, Betty was active in many of the parish's ministries, notably Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, the parish's quilting ministry and served as a Sunday school teacher. In the 1960s and 1970s, she worked at Bureau Service Co. in Princeton for more than a decade.

A devoted farm wife, Betty was a homemaker and enjoyed tending a large vegetable and flower garden.

Betty is survived by her husband, Bill of rural Princeton; two sons, John (Molly) Linker of Lexington, Ky., and Will (Jolene) Linker of rural Malden; three grandchildren, Haleigh, Lila and Ella; a brother, Merrill Pinter of Kewanee; a sister-in-law, Carolyn Cloues of Birmingham, Ala.; nine nieces and nephews, cousins and countless friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister-in-law.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church on the Hill with the Rev. Kim-Lee Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church on the Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Norberg Memorial Home, Princeton, and one hour prior to services at the church.

Memorials may be directed to St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church on the Hill.
