Harold 'Tim' Andersen

OHIO, Ill. — Harold “Tim” Andersen, 73, of Ohio, Ill., died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, at Walnut Manor Nursing Home in Walnut.

Tim was born on June 23, 1940, in Walnut, the son of Harvey and Fern (Peach) Andersen. He was united in marriage to Betty Hardy on June 14, 1959, at the First Christian Church in Walnut.

He owned and operated Andersen Power Equipment in Walnut for several years. He was a member of American Legion Post 179 and Happy Hookers Fishing Club, Walnut Chamber of Commerce, as well as a member of the First Christian Church in Walnut. He was an avid Cubs and Bears Fan.

He is survived by his wife, Betty of Ohio, Ill.; one daughter, Ann (Branson) Lawrence of Somonauk; two sons, Gary Andersen of Oregon, Ill., and Glenn Andersen of Ohio, Ill.; seven grandchildren, Branson (Anna), April (Adam), Ryan, Tanya, Erica, Jarron and Abigail; four great-grandchildren, Kearston, Tate, Kaylee and Adria; five sisters, Betty Sissel of Yorkville, Nancy Christensen of Walnut, Janice Hansen of Princeton, Karen (Bill) Lind of Walnut and Mary (Larry) Bartman of Ottawa; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and mother-in-law, Evelyn Hardy.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut with the Rev. Brian Moore, pastor of the First Christian Church of Walnut, officiating.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

A memorial has been established in his memory in lieu of flowers.
