Lady Lions rally against Somonauk

Shiela Browning and the LaMoille/Ohio Lady Lions celebrated Homecoming with a win at Somonauk Thursday. But it didn’t come easy.

The Lady Lions rallied for a 22-25, 25-15, 25-17 win to improve to 4-0 in the Little Ten Conference and 10-4 overall. Browning, the Homecoming queen, led the Lady Lions with 10 kills and added five points, three aces, five digs and one block.

“We struggled in Game 1 to get going and had too many service errors on the night, but I’m proud of the girls for hanging in there and finding a way to win,” L/O coach Hallie May said.

Serving leaders were Ragen Forbes (12 points, 1 ace), Erin Bennett (8 points) and Madie Walker (6 points). Forbes added 25 digs; Harleigh Young had nine; and Bennett had eight.

L/O was a 20-25, 25-14, 25-12 winner in the F/S match, led by Paige Conner (12 points, 9 aces, 4 kills, 8 digs, 11 assists) and Riley Johnson (6 points, 6 aces, 7 kills, 12 digs).

The freshmen match also went to L/O, 25-9, 25-15. Conner had 10 kills and 11 digs, and Katy Anderson added eight points, seven digs and 11 assists.
