Mr. and Mrs. Gary Hartwig of Aurora celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on Tuesday.
Gary Hartwig and the former Jennifer Brown were married Oct. 1, 1988, at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Princeton by the Rev. Lowel Albee and Father Edward Harkrader.
Both Gary and Jennifer graduated from Princeton High School and attended Western Illinois University. Gary graduated from Western in 1988 with a degree in criminal justice. Jennifer completed her college education at Concordia College in River Forest with a degree in elementary education.
After graduation, Gary began a career in federal law enforcement with the U.S. Customs Service. Jennifer worked as an administrator at Beginnings in Westbrook Child Care Center. In 1997, Jennifer and Gary relocated to Washington, D.C., where they lived until 2005 when they relocated back to the suburbs of Chicago.
Currently, Jennifer and Gary reside in Aurora where Jennifer is a substitute teacher and Gary is the special agent in charge with Homeland Security Investigations. They have three children, Mitchell, who is a sophomore at College of DuPage; Bradley, who is a junior and Waubonsie Valley High School; and Gregory, who is a freshman at Waubonsie Valley High School.
